OUR STORY

Wondering what all the squawk is about? Chances are it’s coming from The Henley Brook, or as we’re lovingly known, The Hen.

Nestled in the heart of the Swan Valley, we’re a family-friendly pub built around good food, cold drinks and good times, and we don’t take ourselves too seriously. Whether you’re dropping in for lunch, catching up with mates or settling in for the afternoon with the family, there’s always a good reason to head to The Hen.

Acknowledgement of country - paying our respects

The Henley Brook acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land we are on, and pay our respects to Elders past and present.

Our massive lawn and outdoor area is where The Hen really comes to life. Grab a table or picnic rug and settle in while the little ones play free range, with wobbly log planks, rope swings, basketball hoops, footy goals, sandpits and plenty of room to burn off energy.
Inside, grab a table by our double-sided fireplace and make yourself at home.

Honouring, conserving and celebrating our region

The Swan Valley has a rich history dating back to the earliest days of European exploration in Western Australia. In 1827, Captain James Stirling explored the Swan River, reaching as far as Henley Brook, a moment now commemorated by a plaque marking the site.

At The Hen, we value our strong partnerships with the City of Swan, the Swan River Trust and National Heritage bodies. Through close collaboration, we’re committed to ensuring our development has a positive impact on the surrounding environment, while respecting and preserving the rich heritage and character of the Swan Valley.

We’re pretty lucky to call the Swan Valley home. As Western Australia’s oldest wine region, it’s a place known for good food, great local produce and, of course, a cracking drop or two.
At The Hen, we like to make the most of what’s on our doorstep. Food-wise, it’s proper pub grub done well, backed up by a winning lineup of local beers, local wines and cocktails. Grab a table, settle in and enjoy a taste of the Valley without taking things too seriously.
